Project Financial Controller -- Construction (On-Site/Hybrid)

This is a full-time role supporting the financial management of a large-scale data center construction project. The Construction Site Controller will play a key role in cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting, working closely with project leadership to provide accurate and timely insights into overall project performance.

The position will begin as fully on-site for the first 1--2 months to support project onboarding and integration with the team. Following this, the role will transition to a hybrid schedule, with approximately 2--3 days per week on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budget setup, cost coding, and ongoing cost tracking
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Monitor cost performance, identifying variances and potential risks
  • Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to align financials with field progress
  • Support subcontractor financials, including commitments and pay applications
  • Track and manage change orders, ensuring accurate cost impact reporting
  • Maintain visibility into committed, actual, and forecasted costs
  • Assist with procurement and commitment tracking
  • Support month-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial processes and documentation standards
  • Coordinate with corporate finance and accounting teams as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in construction cost control, project accounting, or project controls
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects (data center or mission-critical preferred)
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, billing, and cost structures
  • Experience with systems such as Procore, SAP, Oracle, or similar
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Ability to work on-site as required, especially during initial project phase
