General Purpose

Utilize underwriting expertise, communication, and problem-solving skills to deliver a premier customer experience. Ensure workers' compensation insurance policies are underwritten profitably, fairly, and accurately.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Product Expertise

  • Apply comprehensive Workers Compensation knowledge to review applications and policies.
  • Ensure accurate classification and pricing of exposures, adhering to state rules (NCCI or independent bureau states) and statutes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Workers Compensation Insurance industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Customer & Agent Advocate

  • Educate and guide customers and agents through workers' compensation insurance complexities, ensuring policy accuracy and understanding.
  • Collaborate with agents to identify and implement growth opportunities.

Innovator

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and communicate customer pain points, driving solutions that reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction, aligning with our philosophy of a seamless agent experience.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, emphasizing Lean methodology.

Decision Scientist

  • Employ data analytics and pricing tools for accurate workers' compensation policy pricing and to derive actionable customer insights.
  • Review applications and policies using workers' compensation knowledge, ensuring correct exposure classification and pricing in accordance with NCCI rules and state statutes.

Sales Executive

  • Drive new business growth by building strong relationships with partners, customers, and agents through effective sales techniques and guidance throughout the sales process.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in MGA launch activities to ensure profitable growth and a smooth transition.
  • Engage in customer worksite visits, agency visits, and other key business meetings.
  • Serve as a trusted underwriting expert on organizational projects and committees.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two or more years of previous customer-facing experience.
  • Comfort operating in a sales environment.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Five or more years of workers' compensation underwriting experience required.
