About the Opportunity
BAYADA at Inspira Home Health is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a Part-Time opportunity. This role involves performing home health visits for our Gloucester county office, located in West Deptford, New Jersey. The service area includes territories throughout Gloucester County, NJ.
As a home care Occupational Therapist, you will be a vital part of a multi-disciplinary health care team, providing rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, enabling them to receive necessary medical care while remaining at home.
Occupational Therapist, OT Responsibilities:
- Conduct home visits to clients within designated geographic territories.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, communication skills, and activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) performance.
- Assess cognitive, psychological, and motor aspects of performance, developing individualized intervention plans for optimal outcomes.
- Evaluate home environments for potential hazards or barriers to independent living.
- Identify necessary equipment and environmental adaptations to improve client outcomes.
- Continuously assess and revise the occupational therapy care plan, collaborating with nursing on the multidisciplinary care plan as needed.
- Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other representatives on rehabilitative care and activities to promote health, safety, and independent living.
- Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations related to patient care management and services using a state-of-the-art tablet.
Occupational Therapist, OT Qualifications:
- A current New Jersey Occupational Therapist license.
- Prior home care experience is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of one year of recent work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the AOTA (proof required via transcript or diploma).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
