Position Summary
From a home office, the Student Services Administrator is a key member of the school's leadership team, providing direction and support to staff, students, and parents across the K-12 educational program, with a special emphasis on secondary school (grades 6-12). This role focuses on ensuring academic success, managing counseling services, facilitating post-secondary planning, and overseeing student records and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Student Academic Success & Support
- Academic Oversight: Serve as a point of escalation for student problems and coordinate K-12 student support processes, including implementing strategies for academic achievement and managing the escalation process.
- Instructional Support: Support teachers in maintaining professionalism, instructional quality, and customer service; provide guidance to teachers integrating mid-semester enrollment students.
- Counseling Program Development: Develop, plan, and implement comprehensive counseling programs related to academic planning, career development, graduation requirements, and interpersonal adjustment issues for students and families.
- Student Monitoring: Develop and implement processes to regularly review the status of secondary students concerning attendance, participation, and academic performance.
- Risk Management & Crisis Intervention: Coordinate with staff to identify students who are at risk or in crisis; report and refer to all critical incidents as legally and ethically obligated.
- Community Resources: Lead teams in identifying and maintaining an up-to-date list of school and community resources for staff and families.
Post-Secondary Planning & Guidance
- Graduation Planning: Assist students and parents in understanding and meeting graduation requirements.
- Course Management: Supervise the secondary school course selection process based on credit and graduation requirements, student needs, and interests. Counsel students on course changes and withdrawals.
- New Student Consultations: Conduct consultation sessions with new families who have unique circumstances, to develop a placement plan prior to their enrollment.
- College & Career Services: Assist with post-secondary school planning, including developing Four-Year Plans.
- Partnerships: Develop dual enrollment articulation agreements with postsecondary institutions, cultivate corporate partnerships for high school student internships, and serve as the main contact for higher education partnerships.
- Special Programs: Research, develop, and implement special programs such as Advanced Placement support, SAT/ACT preparation, and college entrance preparation.
- Testing: Understand the requirements for and facilitate the coordination of all high school testing (e.g. PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP exams).
Administrative & Leadership Duties
- Leadership Coordination: Communicate and coordinate all overlapping responsibilities with the school leadership team; manage/evaluate other school staff as part of the leadership team.
- Communication & Outreach: Maintain high-quality communication with all staff, students, and families; participate in student recruitment and marketing efforts (e.g., presentations, Q&A sessions).
- School Community: Devise and implement virtual methods for creating and maintaining a school community.
- Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time position starting for the 2026-2027 school year.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of educational experience; school leadership experience preferred.
- Educational Leadership certification required; Counseling certification a plus.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite).
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Customer-focused approach.
- High degree of flexibility and demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player track record.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Availability to work a consistent daily schedule Monday through Friday, 8 hours daily during peak student hours per school requirements.
- Ability to work occasional evening hours, as needed to support families.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Must be able to use personal electronic devices for two-step authentication and communication.
