Job description
Job Type: Full-Time, Remote
Schedule: Monday -- Friday
Compensation: $80,000 -- $100,000
The NSA Specialist supports operational and administrative functions related to the No Surprises Act (NSA), with a focus on out-of-network billing disputes, Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR), and compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations. This role works closely with healthcare providers, insurers, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate dispute filings, thorough documentation, and full regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the preparation and review of NSA medical claims, ensuring all documentation complies with federal regulations and agency standards
- Manage and prepare No Surprises Act Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) submissions and supporting documentation
- Review medical billing records, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), payment determinations, and insurer correspondence
- Analyze medical records, insurance documents, and related evidence to identify relevant information for case evaluation
- Track statutory deadlines, filing requirements, and case statuses related to NSA regulations and reimbursement policies
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurers, IDR entities, and internal stakeholders regarding dispute matters
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Proofread and transcribe documents to ensure accuracy prior to submission or filing
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Qualifications
- 2--5 years of experience in healthcare, medical billing, insurance disputes, or legal support
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD coding, and the reimbursement process
- Familiarity with the No Surprises Act, IDR process, and healthcare compliance regulations
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
