Job description

FP&A Analyst - Remote Freelance AI Evaluator

Crossing Hurdles is partnering with a leading US AI frontier lab to identify experienced finance professionals for a remote, flexible freelance engagement. Our client is building AI systems that need to reason accurately across complex financial domains - and they need real FP&A practitioners to help evaluate and improve that output.

This is not a traditional finance role. You will be reviewing, scoring, and providing expert feedback on AI-generated financial content - drawing directly on your hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis.

What You Will Do

  • Review AI-generated FP&A outputs and assess them for accuracy, relevance, and quality
  • Identify errors, gaps, and weaknesses in financial reasoning and modeling logic
  • Provide structured written feedback to improve AI response quality
  • Complete scenario-based tasks covering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Work independently on a flexible, async schedule with consistent weekly availability

Domain Focus

  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Revenue and expense forecasting
  • Budget development and management
  • Variance analysis and performance reporting
  • Business partnering and executive-level financial storytelling
  • Scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis

What We Are Looking For

  • 5 or more years of experience in FP&A or a closely related corporate finance function
  • Background in roles such as FP&A Analyst, Senior FP&A Analyst, Finance Business Partner, or Financial Reporting Analyst
  • CFA or MBA with a Finance concentration preferred
  • Strong command of forecasting methodologies, financial modeling, and budgeting cycles
  • Ability to articulate reasoning clearly and precisely in writing
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deliverable timelines without close supervision

Work Style and Expectations

This engagement is fully remote and async-friendly. You set your own hours within the week. Our client values consistency - candidates who can commit to a reliable weekly cadence perform best and are prioritized for ongoing and expanded work. Evaluators who demonstrate strong performance are considered for retainer arrangements.

Compensation

  • Rate: $100-125/hr (USD)
  • Payment: Via Deel, fortnightly
  • Commitment: 15-20 hours/week (minimum 10 hours/week)
  • Type: Long-term engagement, retainer opportunities for strong performers

You May Be a Good Fit If

You have spent years doing real FP&A work and can spot when financial reasoning is off. You enjoy analytical tasks and structured writing. You want a flexible, well-compensated engagement that fits around your existing schedule - and you are ready to start quickly.

To express interest, send your resume to Crossing Hurdles. No interviews. No lengthy application process. Resume review followed by a brief onboarding call is all it takes to get started.
