About Enertis

Enertis is a global consulting and engineering firm at the forefront of the renewable-energy transition. For nearly two decades, we have helped investors, developers, and manufacturers maximize project profitability and manage risk through innovative, high-value technical services. Our 360° perspective—technical, environmental, financial, and contractual—allows us to solve problems others miss.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, QA/QC, the Junior Inspector will perform on-site and remote quality-assurance inspections for solar-PV equipment vendors across North America. You'll gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art manufacturing lines, deepen your technical expertise, and build a career in a sector that's growing exponentially.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials & processes:
    • Verify incoming raw materials against bills of materials and specification sheets.
    • Confirm equipment recipes and operating parameters match SOPs.
  • Identify non-conformities:
    • Spot deviations from industry norms or manufacturer procedures (e.g., missing PPE, incorrect material usage or storage) and escalate issues promptly.
  • Oversee packing & shipment:
    • Supervise loading of finished goods: check packing lists, packaging methods, physical condition of goods, and capture photographic evidence.
  • Execute visual inspections:
    • Review production images and in-person work-in-progress to flag cosmetic or functional defects.
  • Document everything:
    • Produce concise daily logs, test-witness reports, and photo records that stand up to client and auditor scrutiny.
  • Contribute beyond the checklist:
    • Tackle ad-hoc assignments that improve our processes and client value.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years in quality control, vendor inspection, or manufacturing (PV module experience a strong plus).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Teams a plus).
  • Sharp observational skills, analytical mindset, and a bias for action.
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear, professional communication—both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Physically able to:
    • Lift/carry up to 50 lb (23 kg).
    • Stand, bend, and reach for 8-12 hours.
    • Perform detailed visual inspections (reasonable accommodation available).
  • Unwavering commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Systems), Manufacturing Operations, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics—or an equivalent combination of education and on-the-job experience.
  • Familiarity with IEC/UL PV module standards, lean-manufacturing, or Six-Sigma methodologies.
  • ISO 9001 or similar QMS exposure.

Location & Travel

Role can be based out of any Enertis U.S. office or fully remote. Domestic travel to vendor sites is required—typically 25-40%, planned in advance.

Why Enertis?

  • Mission-driven work accelerating the clean-energy transition.
  • Growth mindset: Access to senior mentors, global knowledge-sharing, and clear promotion pathways.
  • Inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives and flexible work arrangements.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans; generous PTO; professional-development budget; and more.
