The Opportunity
We are seeking a growth-centric, excellence-focused Ad Sales & Distribution Marketing Contractor to join our team. Ideal candidate will be able to work a hybrid schedule at our New York office (New York, NY 10019).
This is a 3-month contract position. Applicants must be able to commit to a 3-month contract and start immediately. This position will work up to 40 hours per week.
Job Purpose
The Ad Sales & Distribution Marketing Contractor plays a critical role on the Ad Sales & Distribution teams by working on various marketing projects.
The Ad Sales & Distribution Marketing Contractor must have previous advertising and marketing experience and possess a solid knowledge of Canva and Adobe Suite products. The ideal candidate should be extremely organized and able to work without daily supervision. They will collaborate with internal team members as they create and edit various products, requiring strong self-direction and motivation.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Sales Collateral & Material Development
- Custom Pitch Materials: Develop high-impact, visual presentations and pitch decks tailored for specific client needs across both General Market and Direct Response (DR) categories.
- One-Sheets & Sales Kits: Design and maintain a library of network "one-sheets," program-specific one sheets, and quarterly highlight reels that reflect current ratings and programming milestones.
- Media Kit Management: Ensure all general sales materials are up-to-date and consistent with the Great American Media brand voice.
2. Strategic Brand Marketing & Ideation
- Market-Facing Initiatives: Proactively develop and present innovative marketing "big ideas" and seasonal tentpole opportunities to be pitched to agency buyers and brands.
- Brand Stewardship: Maintain a deep understanding of the Great American Media brand ethos to ensure all marketing efforts align with the network's core values and content pillars.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor marketplace trends and competitor offerings to identify gaps and unique positioning opportunities for GAM.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Monetization
- Programming Integration: Interface with the Programming department to identify upcoming content themes, specials, or movie premieres that can be packaged for sponsorship.
- Digital & Social Extension: Work closely with Digital and Social Media teams to build 360-degree cross-platform opportunities, ensuring linear buys are supported by robust digital activations.
- Inter-Departmental Liaison: Act as the bridge between Sales, Creative Services, and Programming to ensure communication is flowing through Ad Sales.
4. Client Relationship & Premium Management
- Client Premiums (Gifts): Lead the sourcing, design, and fulfillment of "on-brand" client premiums and corporate gifts that reinforce brand identity and maintain top-of-mind awareness with key buyers.
5. Administrative and Workflow Protocols
- Turnaround Times: Given the nature of Direct Response and quick-turn General Rate pitches, standard turnaround times should be no more than 48 hours.
- Approval Workflow: All external-facing materials must receive final sign-off from SVP of Ad Sales before being sent to a client.
- Asset Access: Independent Consultant will have access to the internal Marketing elements and Share Drive to pull logos, high-res photography, and trailer clips.
- Reporting: Independent Consultant should deliver a Weekly Activity Report for tracking purposes and pipeline management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years experience using Canva and similar programs to create pitch decks and one-sheets for Ad Sales Team.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate clearly and effectively over the phone, through email, and in writing.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Adept at prioritization of tasks and workload.
- Must be able to maintain composure while working in high-pressure and fast-moving situations.
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time management skills are essential to the success of this job.
Working Conditions
This position is in an office environment and works a hybrid onsite schedule at our New York office. Typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite; remote on Monday and Friday.
Depending on the candidate's location, we may consider a fully remote position.
