  • Minimum: $47,405.00 Annually
  • Maximum: $47,405.00 Annually
  • Positions with a designated work location in New York City, Nassau, Rockland, Suffolk, or Westchester Counties will receive a $4,000 annual downstate adjustment (pro-rated for part-time positions).

Responsibilities

The Assistant Data Administrator will provide routine project and data support to a program responsible for investigating violent deaths in New York State for the New York Violent Death Reporting System (NYVDRS).

Key Duties:

  • Request, collect, and assist in reviewing data reported to the program.
  • Ensure all required information is obtained from coroner/medical examiner (C/ME) and law enforcement (LE) reporting sources.
  • Enter data into program and federal databases based upon established guidelines.
  • Assist with on-site data abstraction at reporting sources for data entry.
  • Supervise staff and assist with other appropriate related duties.
  • Represent the program at relevant conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related field or higher.
  • OR two years of experience in data collection or data organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data abstraction.
  • Experience working with private, confidential, and sensitive data/information, including entering data into federal databases.
  • Experience in injury and/or occupational surveillance and health.
  • Knowledge of medical/criminal terminology.

Conditions of Employment

  • Grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements is required.
  • Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
  • The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location and be located in or willing to relocate to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts prior to hire.
  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
  • HRI participates in the E-Verify Program.

Work Location Expectations

HRI's hybrid and onsite work varies by position. Managers determine telecommuting expectations based on operational needs. All HRI employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their official work location and reside in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Vermont.
