[Remote] Full-stack software engineer

About the Role

Hercules is seeking a senior or staff level Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our remote team, open to candidates in the USA. You will play a key role in building and owning features across various platforms, including our AI Agent, App Builder, and hosting infrastructure. We value high code quality and a strong product/design sense.

Responsibilities

• Build and own features across Hercules, including:
  • AI Agent: Enabling users to build powerful full-stack applications.
  • App Builder: An intuitive interface for building, previewing, and deploying apps.
  • Hosting Infrastructure: Scalable and reliable backend for hosting numerous apps.
  • SDK: Headless SaaS for integration into apps (e.g., Hercules Commerce, Auth, CMS, Files & Media).
  • Platform: Consumer-grade user experience with enterprise-grade security.
  • Internal AI Coding Harness: Enhancing our internal coding workflow.

Skills Required

• Exceptional software fundamentals: system design, architecture, data modeling, and API design.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code, and work effectively in monorepos.
• Proven track record of shipping features to customers.
• Strong experience with SaaS functionalities:
  • Billing (subscriptions, entitlements)
  • Identity (OAuth, RBAC, SSO/SAML)
  • Product Analytics (A/B testing, feature flags)
  • Other features like i18n, text editors, table grouping/sorting/filtering.
• Proficiency in our core stack: TypeScript, React, containers, Postgres, and Redis.
• Ability to leverage AI to significantly enhance workflow.
• Experience with:
  • Languages/Frameworks: React, Typescript, AI SDK, Postgres, Redis, Clickhouse, Tailwind, IaC (CDK, Terraform), Docker, Otel, Hono, Drizzle ORM.
  • Cloud Services: Cloudflare, AWS.
  • AI Models: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google.
