Job Overview

This is a remote position open to candidates in the USA. The Senior Development Support Engineer will provide technical assistance, troubleshoot product issues, and contribute to product enhancements by collaborating with development teams and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-level support for technical inquiries related to HID products.
• Assist developers integrating with HID APIs.
• Educate partners on best practices for deployment and integration.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including network and serial communication problems.
• Assist in replicating customer issues.
• Log defects accurately in the system for engineering review.
• Participate in planning events, workshops, and system demonstrations.
• Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interface with partners and customers to understand their needs and requirements.
• Work closely with other engineering and quality teams.

Skills and Qualifications

• A degree in a technical field (preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work effectively with remote colleagues across different time zones and countries.
• Programming experience in C/C++, C#, or Rust.
• Web development knowledge (HTTP, HTML, RESTful, JSON, XML, MQTT).
• Experience deploying applications on Linux and Windows.
• Proficiency with TCP/IP networking, including transport layer protocols (TCP, UDP) and application layer protocols (HTTPS).
• Experience using diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, Postman, and curl.
• Understanding of serial communication protocols (e.g., RS-232, RS-485).
• Experience with access control products/solutions is highly desired.
• Experience with Jira is desired.
• Knowledge of SSL digital certificates.
