Job description

Company Description

Jang Capital is a deal sourcing and advisory firm built specifically for search fund operators. We combine proprietary sourcing software with human analyst support to help operators identify, evaluate, and close small and mid-market acquisitions across the Southeast United States. Our platform centralizes deal flow from multiple sources, scores every opportunity against the operator's acquisition criteria, and delivers structured analysis that helps searchers move faster on the right deals. We are a lean, early-stage firm that moves quickly and gives every team member real responsibility from day one.

Role Description

This is a part-time, remote internship position for a Deal Research Analyst. The role involves sourcing acquisition targets across platforms including BizBuySell, Axial, and DealStream, conducting research on listed businesses, and delivering structured deal summaries to active search fund operators. The analyst will evaluate opportunities against defined acquisition criteria, build financial models including LBO and operating models, and upload completed analysis directly into the Jang Capital platform where it is reviewed by operators and investors. This is a hands-on role with direct exposure to real transactions in the lower middle market.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate business financials including revenue, EBITDA, SDE, and valuation multiples
  • Familiarity with business listing platforms such as BizBuySell, DealStream, or Axial is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for deal tracking and financial modeling
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex information clearly and concisely
  • Self-directed and able to manage a weekly deal pipeline with minimal supervision
  • Genuine curiosity about entrepreneurship through acquisition, search funds, and small business ownership
  • Prior exposure to financial modeling, investment analysis, or M&A coursework is a plus but not required
