Job description

Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for the project lifecycle, ensuring ETL solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and meet the high-quality standards required for our millions of daily data points
  • Manage and mentor a distributed team of developers, providing clear technical direction, resolving blockers, and conducting constructive code reviews
  • Proactively explore and master all systems upstream and downstream of your area. You will be expected to understand how our data interacts with client platforms to ensure smooth end-to-end integration
  • Lead the development of testing frameworks and QA plans to guarantee data integrity across our modern cloud stack (Azure, AWS, Databricks)
  • Constantly seek out better solutions and improved ways of working. Actively participate in Agile environments, optimizing sprint cycles and introducing best practices for CI/CD and system reliability
  • Rapidly learn the nuances of the Advertising and Market Research domain to better translate business needs into robust technical requirements

Skills

  • 8 years in data engineering or ETL development, with at least 4-5 years in a lead or management capacity
  • Expert-level understanding of ETL technologies, ideally a deep understanding of SQL Server, Postgres, and the Databricks ecosystem (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark SQL) and Python/PySpark
  • A strong background in SQL and RDBMS, with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous experience in Advertising, Media, or Market Research
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Azure DevOps pipelines
