Job Summary
The Travel Operations Consultant will assist NousTravel's Independent Contractors and clients with booking domestic and international travel arrangements on Sabre. Responsibilities include heavy ticketing assistance, exchanges, checking and applying correct commission on exchanged tickets, assisting in ticketing on-line bookings (Concur & Atriis), handling cancellations, modifications, and unexpected issues for clients, such as flight delays & cancellations. Heavy knowledge of issuing exchange tickets along with MCO issuance for international bookings is required. Exit UK knowledge and ticketing is also required. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are essential. Must be an excellent multi-tasker.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Training NousTravel's Independent contractors and travel agents on new industry standards and Sabre.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with airline representatives for favorable terms and outcomes to assist in resolving customer issues related to air travel bookings.
- Staying current with changes in the air/travel industry and communicating updates to independent agents and travel agents.
- Maintaining processes for accuracy and efficiency in air travel bookings.
- Overseeing the utilization of travel booking systems and technology to optimize workflows.
- Offering consultations on vendor contracts and guidance on fares, tariffs, commissions, and processes.
- As needed, preparing cost estimates for travel, lodging, entertainment, and other accommodations.
- As needed, booking travel and lodging arrangements in Sabre for clients, including plane tickets, rental cars, hotels, and cruises.
- As needed, assisting in planning and arrangements for clients' travelers to attend and participate in attractions such as tours, excursions, and day trips.
- Assisting with hotel and air rate loading and auditing.
- Assisting in ticketing and ticket exchanges.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding the need for urgency and adjusting workload accordingly based on contractor's or agent's needs.
- Ability to make travel and event recommendations based on clients' interests and personalities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software for preparing schedules and itineraries.
- Proficient computer and research skills for booking travel, lodging, and tickets to attractions.
- Knowledge of Magnatech, Power BI, SION commission tracking, and other travel technology tools is a plus.
- Regular and dependable attendance is required.
- West Coast hours are required.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous related experience booking domestic and global destinations.
- Travel experience to a variety of destinations preferred.
- Knowledge of Sabre or similar GDS.
- Knowledge of profile tools.
- Experience reviewing contracts and rates in GDS is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel without restriction.
