Senior Cloud Network Engineer - Hybrid / Partially Client Onsite

Job Summary

NTT DATA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join our team in Alpharetta, Georgia. This hybrid role requires deep knowledge of IPV6 and hands-on experience with public cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP). The primary focus will be on developing lab testing frameworks and validating IPV6 and dual-stack networking performance in cloud-native and enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop lab testing frameworks and validate IPV6 and dual-stack networking performance.
• Work with AWS constructs including VPC IPv6 addressing, Internet Gateway, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Route 53.
• Configure and manage Azure networking features: VNet IPv6, Azure Load Balancer, IPv6 Express Route, NSGs, and Azure Network Watcher.
• Implement and manage GCP networking: Cloud Routers, Google Access for IPv6, Cloud NAT64, Interconnect, and VPC Flow Logs.
• Design and build lab environments, certify hardware and software, and perform Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
• Utilize strong knowledge of networking technologies: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPBGP, MPLS VPNs, VxLAN, Multicast.
• Apply expertise in DMVPN, IPSEC, Encryption Standards, and Network Security.
• Experience with Cisco IOS-XE and Nexus Devices.
• Analyze network traffic using tools like Ixia/Spirent/iperf, and Wireshark; read pcaps.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex network issues.
• Collaborate with Network, Security teams, and vendors.
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Create test cases, develop configuration templates, and produce operational manuals.
• Communicate effectively with diverse technical audiences and senior management.
• Facilitate the transition from PoC to production environments, preparing test plans and providing stakeholder updates.
• Liaise extensively with Cisco and Arista.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in LAN/WAN network design, engineering, and feature testing/certification.
• CCIE/CCNP certified or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer, or GCP Cloud Network Engineer certifications are desired.
• 5+ years of experience with Cloud PaaS and/or IaaS (Azure, AWS), including cloud networking solutions, compute, and operating models.
• 3+ years of IPV6 networking and validation experience.
• Excellent knowledge of network protocols: BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree Protocol, Multicast.
• Strong understanding of IPV6 fundamentals, addressing, NDP, ICMPv6, DHCPv6, SLAAC, and dual-stack implementation.
• Experience with Routing Protocols OSPFv3 and BGPv6.
• Knowledge of Cloud Networking and Security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency with MS Azure VNet, VNet-Peering, Private Link, vWAN, Express Route, Firewall, and Load Balancer.
• Familiarity with AWS Global infrastructure, VPC, S3, EC2, Route 53, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
• Knowledge of firewalls and NAT64/DNS64 configuration.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting Cisco and Arista network platforms and protocols.
• Experience with IP Routing Platforms: ISR, ASR1K, ASR9K, Catalyst 9K, Catalyst8Kv, Nexus9K.
• Experience with Multicast: IGMPv2/v3, PIM, Static RP, RP-Anycast.
• Familiarity with overlay technologies like IPSEC, DMVPN, VXLAN, MACSEC, and SDWAN/SDA is a plus.
• Knowledge of cabling and optics (10/25G/40G/50G/100G).
• Ansible knowledge is a significant plus.
• Proficient in traffic generation tools like Ixia/Spirent, iPerf3, and Wireshark.
• Experience with test automation within CI/CD infrastructure, ROBOT framework is a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes and IPV6-enabled CNI plugins (e.g., Calico, Cilium) is a plus.
• Python network programming knowledge is a plus.
• Agile process knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills are mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
