Serv, a global executive recruitment partner, is hiring on behalf of our client Take Profit Trader for a Data Engineer.
Take Profit Trader is a high-growth proprietary trading firm handling hundreds of millions of dollars in trading volume. Dedicated to innovation, operational excellence, and empowering traders globally, they are hiring a Data Engineer / BI Engineer to build and scale their reporting and analytics foundation. Position Overview
As the Data Engineer , you will be responsible for designing and optimizing the company's analytics infrastructure, reporting systems, and business intelligence capabilities. You will work across data engineering, reporting architecture, dashboard development, and data quality initiatives.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, partnering cross-functionally, and delivering clear insights to stakeholders. You will help ensure leadership has access to accurate, timely, and actionable data.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable SQL-based data solutions using PostgreSQL
- Build and optimize dimensional models, reporting tables, and curated data marts
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau, Power BI, or AWS QuickSight
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and metric definitions
- Translate business questions into structured datasets, reporting logic, and executive-ready dashboards
- Improve data quality, consistency, and reporting reliability across analytics workflows
- Troubleshoot issues across source systems, SQL logic, transformations, and BI outputs
- Document data definitions, reporting logic, and dashboard standards
- Optimize query performance and reporting efficiency across PostgreSQL environments
- Support ongoing analytics roadmap initiatives and business growth priorities
Qualifications
Required Experience & Skills
- 8--10 years of hands-on SQL and PostgreSQL development experience
- 5 years of hands-on BI development experience
- Strong experience with data modeling, especially dimensional modeling for reporting and analytics
- Hands-on experience in at least one major BI platform such as Tableau, Power BI, or AWS QuickSight
- Strong ability to build dashboards, reports, and business-facing analytics assets
- Experience translating business requirements into data models, reporting structures, and KPI definitions
- Strong understanding of data quality, reporting accuracy, and consistency
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Nice to Have
- Exposure to multiple BI platforms, especially Tableau, Power BI, and AWS QuickSight
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, trading, or other data-intensive environments
- Experience with ETL / ELT workflows and analytics pipelines
- Experience improving PostgreSQL query performance and reporting efficiency

$145,000 -- $170,000 base, depending on experience and BI platform depth
