Must have:

- Hold 2-3 years of experience in a data engineering role or a comparable field.
- Have a foundational understanding of mainframe and relational database concepts, including COBOL, JCL, Stored Procedures, and SQL.
- Experience in managing enterprise data on Db2, PostgreSQL, and/or Aurora Postgres.
- Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python, and version control tools like GitHub/GitLab.
- Familiarity with Data DevOps and automation tools such as Flyway or Liquibase.
- Experience with version control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines for effective data schema and infrastructure deployment.
- Experience in enterprise data migrations or modernization initiatives is desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to oversee and maintain claims data on IBM Db2, supporting related tools and applications in both TEST and Production environments.
- Participate in the modernization of the Enterprise Claim System (ECS), bridging the gap between current and future data environments.
- Assist in the identification and development of services and tools essential for managing claims data on Aurora Postgres.
- Utilize widely adopted languages and frameworks for coding, testing, security, DevOps, DataOps, and data engineering methodologies.
- Create and uphold scalable, reusable, and compliant data solutions across various platforms and computing environments.
- Develop a solid understanding of the business domain for established State Farm data sources, specifically in ET P&C Claims.
- Research and provide insights on emerging technologies and core systems pertinent to data engineering tools and platforms.
- Foster a DataOps mindset to leverage automation for delivering high-quality data solutions.
- Prototype and experiment with solutions that help clarify and direct technical initiatives.
