Role Description
We're looking for our first Head of Finance to build the financial engine of a fast-scaling media company. You'll own everything from monthly close to long-range planning, partnering with the CEO and leadership team to turn numbers into decisions. This is a builder role where you'll shape the finance function from the ground up, not inherit a playbook.
What You'll Do
- Own financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across the business
- Build the reporting, dashboards, and KPIs leadership needs to run the company
- Lead monthly close, cash management, and all accounting operations (working with external partners where it makes sense)
- Partner with sales and revenue leadership on pricing, deal structuring, and commission plans
- Manage audit, tax, banking, and compliance relationships
- Model new lines of business, acquisitions, and fundraising scenarios as we grow
- Hire and build the finance and accounting team over time
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of progressive finance experience, with time in a high-growth startup or media company
- Strong FP&A chops---you can build a model from scratch and defend every assumption
- Experience owning the full finance stack (accounting, treasury, reporting, planning), not just one slice of it
- Clear communicator who can translate financials for non-finance operators
- Bonus: experience with subscription, advertising, or media revenue models
