Job description

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, and implement AI-driven tools that enhance clinical, staffing, scheduling, analytics, and administrative processes.
  • Utilize open-source LLMs and manage local inference environments.
  • Develop retrieval-augmented generation pipelines using appropriate embeddings and vector database technologies.
  • Create multi-tool and function-calling agent architectures with efficient execution planning and state management.
  • Integrate MCP-based agents with internal systems, including CRMs and analytics dashboards.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, and regular updates.
  • Deploy models and ensure pipelines operate smoothly in both local environments and the cloud.
  • Improve inference performance by balancing cost and latency considerations.
  • Collaborate with non-technical staff to clarify requirements and translate them into effective AI solutions.
  • Document processes, establish best practices, and provide training on new tools for internal users.

Requirements

Must have:

  • Proven experience with open-source language models and hands-on deployment.
  • Deep understanding of vector search, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation best practices.
  • Experience in creating agent architectures with structured function and tool calling.
  • Familiarity with orchestration frameworks like MCP, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or LangChain.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
  • Background in building data pipelines including ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience deploying AI systems using Docker, AWS services, or local inference setups.
  • Ability to optimize monitoring, logging, and performance of AI systems.
  • Capacity to understand and communicate business workflows effectively.
  • Skill in simplifying complex technical concepts for various audiences.
  • Previous interaction with end-users to gather feedback and improve tools.

Plus:

  • Familiarity with healthcare operations and related workflows is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and security practices concerning PHI/PII is advantageous.
  • Experience with Apple Silicon GPU and machine learning workloads is desirable.
