Job Summary
The Account Executive is responsible for managing the overall contract and relationship with existing complex clients and their consultants. This role owns the strategic renewal plan, develops long-term account strategies, and leads growth and retention efforts for current clients.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
- Develop and execute strategic renewal plans.
- Create long-term account strategies.
- Lead growth and retention initiatives for existing clients.
- Identify business solutions that meet client needs and incorporate them into the annual SPARC (Strategic Planning & Review Consultation).
- Serve as the client expert and a resource for internal teams.
- Share best practices and provide leadership to drive business forward.
- Lead projects and corporate initiatives.
Sales and Business Development
- Utilize influence and persuasion to gain commitment.
- Build relationships to secure support and drive action.
- Negotiate skillfully and respond effectively to others' positions.
- Sell solutions efficiently and effectively.
- Educate and influence clients, customers, and consultants through structured training.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
- Maximize results by systematically managing accounts.
- Lead and coordinate overall team efforts.
- Focus on generating increased sales from established accounts.
- Leverage broad knowledge of business areas and the marketplace to advance organizational goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and competitive landscape.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify and act on strategic opportunities.
- Apply clinical knowledge in client interactions.
Customer Focus
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Gain insight into customer needs to improve member experience.
- Identify opportunities to benefit the customer.
- Build and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations.
- Maintain effective customer relationships, balancing short and long-term needs for renewal and organic growth.
- Build trust through honesty, integrity, authenticity, and reliability.
Communication and Collaboration
- Develop and deliver multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences.
- Listen attentively and adjust messages as needed.
- Provide timely and accurate information.
- Solicit feedback internally and externally to promote customer relations.
- Anticipate communication needs to remove ambiguity.
- Analyze complex information to solve problems effectively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems and create solutions.
- Identify the root cause of issues and evaluate risks/benefits of solutions.
- Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or 14 years of experience.
- 5 years of relevant client management experience with commercial PBM clients (with Bachelor's degree) OR Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of financials.
- Strong project management skills.
- Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to negotiate, lead others, organize, analyze, and interpret information.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Work Environment & Benefits
- Remote Work Requirements: If working from home, a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload is required.
- Incentive Compensation: This role is eligible for an incentive compensation plan.
