COMPANY

Our Purpose. Academy Endeavors exists to elevate others, so they can accomplish their dreams.

What We Do. The application process to Service Academies (USMA, USNA, USAFA) is the most complex college application process in the country. Yet if accepted, it offers a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that gives young people a huge head start in life. We coach clients through this complex process, so they can get into the Academy of their dreams 🇺🇸

Our Mission. To be the most professional, most trusted Service Academy/ROTC consulting company in the world 🌎

Our Core Values. Everything we do is lived out through the lens of our core values.

  • Justice: we fight to give others opportunity🥊
  • Celebration: we pause to acknowledge wins 🥳
  • Excellence: we show clients we care through our competence and enthusiasm🏋️
  • Growth Mindset: we embrace challenges and learn🎁

Role Clarity. What you are directly responsible for💯

  1. Client Resumes. Resumes get copied over to applications. If the resume is weak, the application is weak. You will capture all activities/honors/awards and polish subbullets so the admissions board knows what they actually did what what impact it had.
  2. STAR Stories. Personal Stories that feature applicant strengths are differentiating. If the stories are weak, the essays will be weak. You will edit their STAR stories to be compelling.
  3. Essays. Applicants are more than numbers and grades. They are people, with certain character that Academies want...or don't want. Essays can cause application boards to look past numbers into their story.
  4. Client Goals. The resume is a snapshot in time. But since we coach them over many months, clear goal setting with deadlines has power to develop them into attractive candidates.
  5. Mock Interviews. Prepare clients for the most nerve-wracking interviews of their life. Coach them on delivery, STAR framework, pace/length, and impact of answers. These are recorded and shared with families.
  6. Client Meetings. Facilitate meaningful discussion and provide valuable feedback. Meetings could be with a small group of 5-10 clients, or 1-on-1. These are recorded and shared with families.
  7. Application Reviews. Clients need AE approval on their applications before they can submit with confidence. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving all applications.
  8. Fall Follow-Up. The Academies are the only applications in the country where after you submit you are still only 50% done. Clients still need to be held accountable for all the big rocks and details after submission.
  9. **Underclass Client Support.**Because becoming a competitive applicant is a multi-year process, we have structured a program that improves Fr, Soph, and Jr chances. We expect our coaches to guide underclass clients through the process.
  10. **A La Carte Package Support.**We offer Interview-only, DODMERB-only, and Essay-only support for clients. We expect coaches to deliver on these packages.
  11. Marketing Effort Support. During less busy periods, we expect our coaches to provide support on marketing efforts such as live events, podcasts, and blog writing.

Company Goals🏆

  • Customer Experience. You are the relationship manager for our families. Provide clients a 5-star experience. Metric: % of clients who provided 5-star Google Reviews.
  • Success Rate. Achieve 85%+ Academy acceptance rate. Metric: % of clients who earned an Academy appointment.
  • Timeliness. You set expectations and hold them accountable. Keep clients on track to submit applications early. Metric: % of clients who submitted AE-approved applications before Aug 31 of each year.
  • Core Values. Metric: Scores on Feedback form

This Is Not a Fit if...❌

  • You have a problem with the US military
  • You have a problem with the Christian faith
  • You are not coachable

FAQs❓

  1. How is this different from being a Liaison Officer (ALO, BGO, FFR)? Alot different. Liaison officers are volunteers; you are a paid professional. Liaison officers are siloed to 1 Academy; you will coach clients toward all Academies. Liaison officers work for admissions; you work for the client. Many liaison officers provide reactive, minimal support; you will provide proactive, hands-on support. Many liaison officers don't deal with DODMERB medical issues; you will. Liaison officers aren't held accountable based on success rate; you will be.
  2. When you mention "availability to work evenings or some weekends", what did you mean? Most clients (high schoolers) are not available during the morning or afternoon due to school and extracurriculars. While you will have some flexibility, many client meetings are pre-scheduled in advance in the client contract. Dates are pre-published so that clients know what to expect. Most meetings occur on Tue, Wed, or Thur evening.
  3. When you mention the position will start as a 1099 contractor, what did you mean? The first 90 days are a trial period to determine mutual fit. You will be trained and given the opportunity to be successful. During those 90 days, the expectation is that you work 30+ hours per week as a paid contractor on a flexible schedule. After 90 days, if you perform to the expectation, you will transition to W-2 payroll and work 40 hours per week.
  4. When you mentioned "40 hours/flexible", what did you mean? This is a full-time remote job, so the expectation is that you are working full-time. However, the hours are not a clear 9-5. Summers are our busiest time. Fall is usually the least busy time.
  5. **If I do well, how do I advance in the company?**As we grow, this role has the opportunity to become a Senior Coach, overseeing and training future coaches, and eventually become the COO with P&L responsibility.
  6. What will the training and onboarding path look like? The CEO has a vested interest in your success. Some meetings will be yours from the start. Others will be gradual...joined by the CEO until you have complete confidence. It is expected that you will be the primary coach of the company for all clients within 6 months.
