Project Architect (Job Captain / Project Manager--Leaning)
This role is ideal for an experienced project architect who independently manages complex architectural projects, coordinates multidisciplinary consultants, and produces high-quality construction documents in Revit. Working in a small-office environment, you will contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle---from schematic design through construction administration---on technically complex projects such as healthcare, hospitality, assisted living, laboratories, and other specialized facilities.
Responsibilities

Independently manage complex architectural projects from early design through construction administration with minimal oversight.

Lead and coordinate consultants across disciplines, ensuring alignment of design intent, technical requirements, and project deliverables.

Produce comprehensive, high-quality construction documents using Revit, including full contract document sets in cloud-based models.

Support and participate in all project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.

Develop and refine construction drawings and details that meet project, code, and client requirements.

Apply knowledge of building codes, particularly CA and WA codes and permitting processes, to guide project design and documentation.

Support and occasionally lead client meetings, clearly communicating design intent, technical issues, and project status.

Manage project complexity, including large and multi-year project timelines, while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

Collaborate closely with team members in a small-office setting, providing mentorship and hands-on support to junior staff.

Troubleshoot and resolve design and coordination issues in Revit and in collaboration with consultants during all phases of the project.
Essential Skills
-
6--8 years of professional architectural experience.

Strong background working on technically complex projects such as healthcare, hospitality, assisted living, correctional, or laboratory projects.

Advanced proficiency in Revit, including 6--8 years of Revit-based construction document production in cloud-based models.

Proven experience independently managing projects as a Project Architect or Job Captain, including consultant coordination.

Demonstrated experience producing full construction drawings and contract document sets.

Experience across multiple project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.

Comfort working on large and/or multi-year project timelines.

Familiarity with building codes, including CA and WA building codes and permitting processes.

Ability to support client meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Self-starter mindset with the ability to run projects with minimal oversight.

Licensure not required, but actively pursuing architectural licensure is preferred.

Work Environment
The role is based in a Seattle office that operates in a hybrid work model, with team members working in the office two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) and remotely three days per week. The Seattle studio is a small office of approximately 8--10 staff, offering a close-knit, collaborative environment where team members gain broad, hands-on project experience. The wider firm includes teams in California, Mexico City, and Korea, providing opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices. The culture emphasizes independence, self-starting professionals, and minimal micromanagement, while offering competitive, top-of-market compensation for the Seattle area. Work is heavily Revit-based, using cloud-hosted models and modern collaboration tools to coordinate with consultants and distributed teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $57.00/hr.
