Front End Developer

Job Description

This role focuses on building and maintaining modern user interfaces using JavaScript, React, and React Native within the broader React ecosystem. You will implement new features, refactor and improve existing code, write tests, and resolve bugs to deliver high-quality, scalable front-end solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work fully remotely while collaborating closely with other JavaScript developers and software engineers on well-structured, flexible front-end architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new front-end features and custom components to meet project requirements using JavaScript, React, and React Native.
• Maintain and enhance existing systems by identifying, troubleshooting, and fixing bugs in a timely manner.
• Refactor and improve existing front-end code to increase performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Maintain and update project dependencies, including managing Node.js and NPM/Yarn packages, and resolve any related conflicts.
• Collaborate with other JavaScript developers and software engineers to design front-end architectures that are well-structured, flexible, and aligned with best practices.
• Write and maintain tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and regression prevention.
• Apply fundamental React principles, including components, hooks, and lifecycle methods, to build robust user interfaces.
• Contribute to front-end web development best practices and help improve development workflows within the team.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of verifiable experience in front-end web technologies.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript for front-end development.
• Solid experience with HTML and CSS for building responsive user interfaces.
• Knowledge and practical application of React for front-end development.
• Experience working with tools in the React ecosystem, such as Node.js and NPM or Yarn.
• Ability to design and develop custom front-end components based on project requirements.
• Experience maintaining and refactoring existing codebases, including debugging and bug fixing.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a developer boot camp or equivalent non-industry experience in software development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of React Native for building cross-platform mobile applications.
• Familiarity with common tools and libraries in the wider React ecosystem.
• Understanding of common programming paradigms and fundamental React principles, including components, hooks, and the React lifecycle.
• Experience with front-end web development best practices and patterns.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, team-based environment.

Work Environment

This role operates in a 100% remote work environment, allowing you to contribute from your preferred location while collaborating closely with a distributed development team. You will work virtually with other front-end and JavaScript developers, participating in remote communication and collaboration tools to coordinate tasks, share progress, and review code.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, TX.
