Job Description

The Lead Generation Specialist is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and nurturing prospective customers to build a strong, high-quality pipeline for the scientific support leadership team. This role focuses on both outbound and inbound lead generation activities, driving initial prospect engagement, and ensuring that well-qualified opportunities are passed to Delivery leadership for conversion. You will collaborate closely with the Leadership team, use data to track performance, and contribute directly to business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential customers through outbound prospecting channels, including email, phone, LinkedIn, events, and databases.
  • Qualify leads based on defined criteria such as industry, role, business need, budget, and readiness to engage.
  • Initiate first contact with prospects and clearly communicate compelling value propositions.
  • Nurture prospective customers through consistent follow-up to build interest and move them through the sales funnel.
  • Schedule meetings or seamlessly hand off qualified leads to Delivery Leadership for further engagement and closing.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records of all interactions and lead status in CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align on ideal customer profiles, targeting strategies, and messaging.
  • Track, analyze, and report on lead generation metrics, including lead volume, quality, and conversion rates.
  • Continuously refine outreach approaches and messaging based on feedback, performance data, and market insights.
  • Support business development initiatives by identifying new market segments and opportunities for growth.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in lead generation, sales, or business development roles.
  • Strong understanding of business development and sales processes.
  • Ability to clearly articulate value propositions and engage prospects in a professional manner.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage leads, activities, and pipeline data.
  • Ability to qualify leads based on defined criteria such as industry, role, need, budget, and readiness.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with sales and marketing teams.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to track, interpret, and report on lead generation metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for email, phone, and social media outreach.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and follow-up activities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive approach to prospecting and nurturing leads.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background or exposure to business management, sales management, or account management.
  • Experience working with Life Sciences or related markets.
  • Familiarity with laboratory, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance environments is a plus.
  • Comfort using professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn for prospecting.
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt outreach strategies based on market feedback.
  • Interest in working within engineering and sciences-focused services or solutions.
  • Openness to ongoing professional development, coaching, and performance feedback.

Work Environment

This role offers remote and hybrid work flexibility, allowing you to work from home while also collaborating in person as needed. The position may require travel of up to 30% to meet with prospects, attend events, or support sales activities. You will work in a collaborative, team-oriented culture that emphasizes innovation, professional growth, and cross-functional partnership between sales, marketing, and other business units.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00/yr.
