Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Permit Coordinator to support the EACAM design work, focusing on the deployment of fiber optic networks in rural areas under the Enhanced Alternative Connect America Model (E-ACAM) program. This initiative, backed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), aims to extend high-speed broadband to remote communities.

Responsibilities

  • Draw Permit Polygons using DB621 and ROW/COLO experience.

  • Interpret existing fiber cable records, staking sheets, as-builts, as-stake, PUE, easement, and ROW/COLO documents.

  • Submit all necessary documents, staking sheets, and permit packets to applicable permitting entities.

  • Manage tracking systems and project management/coordination systems, storing permit-related documents and records in the appropriate systems.

  • Attend DB621 training and provide status updates.

  • Participate in quality control review meetings with assigned points of contact.

  • Attend all project meetings, provide update information, and engage in strategic planning calls.

  • Work with municipalities to ensure design drawings meet permit application requirements and track all related processes.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience as a permit coordinator or in a similar role for telecommunication/fiber projects.

  • Experience as a lead or Coordinator, capable of managing calls with municipalities and organizing updates.

  • Proficiency in collocation, involving shared infrastructure to reduce costs and speed up deployment.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple documents, files, and processes simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Excel for logging and tracking information.

  • Effective communication skills for interaction with end customers via email and phone.

  • Experience gathering necessary information from municipalities or similar entities.

  • Ability to work remotely with a high degree of trust and responsibility.

  • Capability to read and interpret design drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in telecommunication and fiber projects.

  • Knowledge of permit applications and telecom industry standards.

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position with flexible working hours, requiring availability online from 9 AM to 3 PM CST. The role offers a 40-hour work week with no overtime required. All necessary hardware, including a computer, desktop, keypad, and mouse, will be provided. The project spans 30 months, working for a large communication carrier. Benefits include two weeks of paid time off and six paid holidays.

This is a Contract position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
