Job Description

The Structural Engineer leads the full design and implementation of complex civil and structural engineering projects, primarily within the industrial sector. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and sound engineering judgment to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural solutions. Working with a group of experience Sr. Engineers, the Structural Engineer ensures that all designs align with client requirements, project timelines, and budget goals while upholding high standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design and analysis of complex civil and structural engineering projects, with a primary focus on industrial facilities.

  • Develop complete structural design solutions, including calculations, drawings, and specifications, that meet safety, performance, and code requirements.

  • Design and detail structural components such as foundations and other key structural systems for industrial projects.

  • Use Revit and AutoCAD to produce, review, and coordinate structural drawings and models with other disciplines.

  • Apply advanced structural engineering principles and professional judgment to solve complex technical problems and optimize designs.

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs align with client expectations, project schedules, and budget constraints.

  • Review design documents for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices and standards.

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to clarify requirements, resolve design issues, and support successful project delivery.

Essential Skills

  • 2--6 years of structural engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in structural design for industrial projects, including foundations and other structural systems.

  • Strong proficiency in structural engineering principles, analysis, and design methods.

  • Hands-on experience using Revit for structural modeling and documentation.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for the preparation and modification of structural drawings.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

  • Ability to exercise sound engineering judgment and make informed decisions on complex design issues.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on multidisciplinary industrial projects and coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with project teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing design and coordination challenges.

Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid work model, with a combination of remote work and in-office presence. After the first few months, the role typically requires 2--3 days per week in the office, providing opportunities for in-person collaboration with project teams while maintaining flexibility. The work involves regular use of design and drafting software such as Revit and AutoCAD in a professional office setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duluth, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
