Associate Director

Senior Manager / Associate Director, Corporate Accounting

We are partnering with a publicly traded biotech company to identify a Senior Manager or Associate Director of Corporate Accounting due to continued growth and momentum across the organization.

This newly created position offers broad exposure across corporate accounting, systems, process ownership, and leadership within a lean, high visibility environment. The organization also has an excellent track record of promoting talent internally across accounting and finance leadership.

Position Overview

This role will serve as a key contributor across multiple areas of corporate accounting while also acting as a systems and process leader within the organization. The position will blend hands on execution, review responsibilities, cross functional collaboration, and people leadership.

The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, highly accountable, operationally minded, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a lean environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Become the internal accounting systems expert across platforms and related accounting tools
• Manage and mentor two accounting team members supporting payroll, stock administration, cash, prepaids, and other general ledger activities
• Serve as backup support for payroll and stock administration processes as needed
• Own and manage more complex accounting areas including leases and stock compensation
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, systems optimization, and scaling accounting operations
• Support additional accounting areas over time, including potential exposure to clinical and R&D accruals
• Partner cross functionally with finance, HR, payroll, and operational teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA strongly preferred
• Public accounting, SEC reporting, technical accounting, or corporate accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting concepts
• Experience with accounting systems and process ownership strongly preferred
• NetSuite experience is a plus
• Prior biotech experience is not required, though sincere interest in the industry is important
