Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (PE) | FULLY REMOTE --- U.S.

A growing national company with manufacturing facilities across eight states is hiring a licensed Electrical PE to join its engineering team. This company designs and builds pre-engineered structures for commercial, government, and specialty applications --- delivering complex, code-compliant buildings from factory to field. This is a fully remote role for a licensed EE who wants to own electrical systems design end-to-end --- from power distribution and lighting layouts through code review and stamped submittals --- on structures built in a factory and shipped nationwide. If you hold an active EE license and want to do real design work without being buried in bureaucracy, this is worth a close look.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Anticipated $130K--$150K, depending on experience and active PE licensure
  • $20K sign-on bonus potential
  • License incentive bonus program: bonuses for earning new state PE licenses (company covers all expenses) plus an annual retention bonus for maintaining active licensures
  • Full suite of benefits: Health/Dental/Vision, 401k, PTO
  • Fully remote --- work from anywhere in the U.S.; on-site access available at manufacturing facilities in 8 states for those who prefer it

  • Design power distribution, lighting, fire protection interfaces, and electrical utility connections for modular building structures
  • Produce engineering drawings, specifications, load calculations, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Perform system performance analyses and ensure designs meet energy efficiency and code compliance requirements
  • Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication submittals to confirm electrical systems are build-ready before factory production
  • Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal codes including NEC and applicable building standards
  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments across multiple concurrent projects
  • Coordinate electrical system integration with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license --- Electrical

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical systems design experience
  • Experience with power distribution design, NEC compliance, and lighting systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical system integration
  • Familiarity with pre-engineered, manufactured, or prefabricated construction environments
