Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | MECHANICAL ENGINEER (PE) | FULLY REMOTE --- U.S.

A growing national company with manufacturing facilities across eight states is hiring a licensed Mechanical PE to join its engineering team. This company designs and builds pre-engineered structures for commercial, government, and specialty applications --- delivering complex, code-compliant buildings from factory to field. This is a fully remote role with real engineering depth: you'll own mechanical systems design from concept through fabrication, working on structures that ship nationwide. If you hold an active ME license and want to apply it to a product that's manufactured, not just designed, this is worth a close look.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Anticipated $130K--$150K, depending on experience and active PE licensure
  • $20K sign-on bonus potential
  • License incentive bonus program: bonuses for earning new state PE licenses (company covers all expenses) plus an annual retention bonus for maintaining active licensures
  • Full suite of benefits: Health/Dental/Vision, 401k, PTO
  • Fully remote --- work from anywhere in the U.S.; on-site access available at manufacturing facilities in 8 states for those who prefer it

Overview

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, utility connections, and mechanical systems integrated into modular building structures
  • Produce engineering drawings, load calculations, equipment sizing analyses, and technical specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Perform energy efficiency evaluations and system performance analyses to meet code and customer requirements
  • Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication submittals, ensuring designs are build-ready on the factory floor
  • Ensure all mechanical systems comply with applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards
  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments across multiple concurrent projects
  • Coordinate mechanical system integration with structural, electrical, and architectural disciplines

Preferred Skills/Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license --- Mechanical
  • Multi-state PE licensure a significant plus
  • Experience with HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and energy compliance
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical systems design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical system integration
  • Familiarity with pre-engineered, manufactured, or prefabricated construction environments
