About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer to join our remote team working at a Series A AI startup specializing in LegalTech solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative backend infrastructure that modernizes enterprise legal processes through sophisticated AI integration. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems that directly impact our enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, preferably with experience in Golang, and a keen interest in AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI agents. This position offers the flexibility of working from anywhere within the United States, providing a unique chance to be part of a high-growth startup environment with significant ownership and autonomy.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and passion for AI technology, including:

• 5-10 years of experience in backend or full-stack development, with a focus on backend systems
• Proficiency in Golang is preferred; however, experience with Python, Java, C, C++, C#, or Rust will also be considered
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP, Kubernetes, and related DevOps tools
• Experience working with large language models (LLMs), AI agents, or a genuine interest in AI and machine learning
• Familiarity with modern development practices such as GitOps, ArgoCD, and Temporal
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

As a Backend Engineer at Jobot, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs that support our AI-driven LegalTech platform
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and frontend developers to deliver high-quality features
• Implementing best practices for code quality, security, and performance optimization
• Integrating AI models and LLMs into backend services to enhance legal process automation
• Ensuring system reliability and scalability through effective monitoring, testing, and deployment strategies
• Participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to foster continuous improvement
• Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and backend development to incorporate innovative solutions
