- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in native iOS and Android development, with proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, and Java.
- Proven experience supporting and extending legacy mobile UI implementations.
- Strong knowledge of mobile application lifecycle, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and app deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with Firebase services, including Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Active TSA Public Trust or DHS Public Trust clearance, with the ability to maintain it.
- Excellent collaboration skills within Agile teams, including product, design, security, QA, and DevOps.
- Experience with Git version control, code reviews, and branching strategies.
- Understanding of accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with cloud services, RESTful APIs, and prior experience supporting TSA mobile applications such as MyTSA and TSA Verify.
Responsibilities
The Hybrid Mobile Developer will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including:
- Providing primary engineering support for legacy native codebases on iOS and Android platforms, including UIKit, Storyboards, Auto Layout, XML layouts, data binding, and backward compatibility considerations.
- Building new mobile applications from conception through deployment, including architecture design, environment setup, and release planning.
- Enhancing and maintaining existing public-facing applications to support DHS/TSA mission objectives, ensuring performance, security, and defect resolution.
- Operating within TSA's mobile development protocols, documentation standards, and governance processes.
- Maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, signing, and deployment workflows.
- Managing app distribution through TSA's Enterprise App Distribution platform, including submission and review processes for both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Implementing Firebase services such as push notifications and messaging.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver iterative improvements, ensuring applications meet accessibility standards and platform conventions.
- Utilizing Git for version control, code reviews, and team collaboration.
- Applying strong mobile UX/UI principles to create intuitive, consistent user experiences across platforms.
- Developing and maintaining cross-platform applications using Flutter and/or React Native, integrating APIs, and troubleshooting as needed.
