About The Role
The Web Development Virtual Assistant (VA) at Remote Raven plays a pivotal role in managing the full lifecycle of website design, development, optimization, and technical maintenance across various organizational domains and platforms. This position requires a blend of creative front-end skills, technical hosting and DNS management knowledge, and practical experience integrating tools and automations that support business and marketing operations.
The Web Development VA ensures all digital environments are secure, optimized, compliant, and visually aligned with the organization's brand and user experience standards. Working closely with leadership and marketing teams, the VA will execute high-quality web solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain efficient integrations across multiple systems, contributing directly to the organization's digital growth and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess proficiency in Webflow, Shopify, WordPress, and Squarespace, with a strong command of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles. Basic PHP knowledge is essential for managing minor edits and customizations.
- Experience managing DNS, domains, SSL certificates, and email authentication protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is required.
- Familiarity with cPanel, FTP/SFTP, Cloudflare, and site migration processes is crucial for seamless website management.
- A solid understanding of SEO fundamentals, site performance optimization, and security best practices is necessary.
- Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in designing UI/UX layouts using tools like Figma or Canva and implementing responsive designs.
- Experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and automation platforms like Zapier will be highly advantageous.
Preferred qualifications include experience with React, Next.js, Vue.js frameworks, Node.js, and advanced hosting management tools, which would enable the candidate to handle more complex technical tasks and integrations.
Responsibilities
The Web Development VA will be responsible for building, updating, and maintaining responsive websites across multiple platforms, including Webflow, Shopify, WordPress, and Squarespace.
- Development: Customizing templates, layouts, and styles using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, as well as managing plugins, themes, and optimizing site speed.
- Marketing Support: Developing marketing and landing pages for campaigns, events, and lead capture initiatives, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and quality assurance.
- Technical Management: Managing version control using Git/GitHub, configuring API integrations, and automation workflows.
- UX/UI: Creating mockups and prototypes, ensuring cohesive branding, accessibility, and responsive design.
- Infrastructure: Handling domain registration, DNS configuration, SSL management, and hosting environment setup, troubleshooting, and migrations.
- Security & Performance: Maintaining website security through plugin updates, vulnerability scans, and CMS hardening. Optimizing site performance by configuring caching, CDNs, and backups.
- Analytics: Managing integrations with analytics and marketing tools, including Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, CRM systems, and email automation platforms.
- Collaboration: Maintaining clear project logs, communicating proactively, and working cross-functionally to ensure project success.
