Job Summary

The Cash Posting Specialist is responsible for a variety of cash posting and reconciliation activities that support the revenue cycle process. This role secures revenue by accurately posting payments, applying adjustments, reconciling deposits, and transferring balances to secondary payers or responsible parties.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Access and balance daily deposits
  • Upload Electronic Remittance Notices (ERNs) into CPR+
  • Post electronic and hard-copy payment batches accurately and timely
  • Apply payments to the correct payer, claim, and line item
  • Review and reconcile payment posting activity
  • Process transfers and adjustments using sound judgment
  • Sort, scan, and route non-payment EOBs and related documentation
  • Review reconciliation reports and make corrections as needed
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across departments
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in medical insurance posting, cash posting, bookkeeping, or related healthcare revenue cycle functions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college coursework
  • Previous healthcare revenue cycle experience
  • Experience reviewing EOBs and posting insurance payments
