About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Policy Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys translating complex policy issues into clear insights, and is motivated by the opportunity to directly support impactful projects across Medicaid, behavioral health, and cross-sector systems. This role would report to the Director Policy and Partnerships but work cross collaboratively.
In this position, you will serve as a key contributor across multiple workstreams while also owning the day-to-day management of one or more projects. You'll work closely with internal teams and client partners to conduct policy research, prepare high-quality materials, and help ensure forward momentum on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Policy Analysis & Research
- Conduct policy research and analysis across a range of healthcare and cross-sector topics, including, but not limited to, Medicaid policy and program regulations, reimbursement and billing rules, Medicaid work requirements, criminal-legal policy intersections with healthcare, and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment models.
- Interpret federal and state policy guidance, regulations, and program requirements and assess implications for clients and stakeholders.
- Synthesize complex policy and regulatory information into concise summaries, briefing documents, and actionable recommendations.
Project Management & Execution
- Strong ability to project manage and track details on multiple projects including activities like agenda setting, task tracking, timeline management, and coordination of deliverables.
- Support management of meetings and work sessions to ensure they are well-structured, focused, and outcome-oriented, with clear documentation of decisions and next steps.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Support engagement with complex, cross-sector stakeholder groups, helping to navigate differing priorities and contribute to consensus-building efforts.
- Serve as a primary note-taker and follow-up for client and stakeholder meetings, ensuring clarity, accountability, and shared understanding.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to support a coordinated and integrated approach across projects and clients.
Communications & Deliverables
- Develop high-quality presentation decks, briefing materials, and written deliverables that translate technical and policy concepts into accessible, decision-ready insights.
- Support the Director of Policy and Partnerships by developing content for meetings, presentations, and external communications as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in a relevant field (including but not limited to: Public Health, Social Work, Public Policy).
- Strong ability to understand, interpret, and apply health policy concepts --- particularly within Medicaid and behavioral health.
- Demonstrated skill in synthesizing large amounts of complex information into clear, simplified, and compelling summaries.
- Excellent presentation development skills; ability to craft materials that are visually engaging and strategically structured.
- Quick thinker who is action-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving consulting environment.
- Highly organized with strong project management abilities and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented mindset with a genuine desire to learn, adapt, and contribute across diverse projects and workstreams.
Preferred Skills
- Professional or internship experience in government, nonprofit, or healthcare provider settings
- Demonstrated experience analyzing health policy and translating findings into insights
- Experience in the behavioral health field
What We Offer
- The anticipated salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000, based on experience
- Fully remote position (no commute!)
