Japanese Language Expert (AI Training)
About The Role
We're looking for Japanese language experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on Japanese-language content. Your linguistic insight and teaching expertise will directly shape how AI understands, generates, and teaches Japanese — making a real impact on one of the world's most fascinating languages.

- Commitment: Minimum 15 hours/week, fully asynchronous
What You'll Do
- Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
- Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+.
- Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment.
- Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and pedagogically sound Japanese.
- Provide structured feedback that directly improves AI tutoring and language-learning models.
- Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.
Who You Are
- Native or near-native fluency in Japanese.
- Experience teaching Japanese or evaluating learner language.
- Strong written communication skills in both Japanese and English (C1/C2).
- Solid familiarity with CEFR frameworks and learner speech patterns.
- Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment.
- No prior AI experience required.

- Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing.
- Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology.
- Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows.
