AI Language Expert - Portuguese

About The Role

We're looking for native Portuguese speakers with a background in language teaching or assessment to help evaluate and improve AI systems built around Portuguese-language learning. Your linguistic expertise and pedagogical insight will directly shape how AI understands, teaches, and communicates in Portuguese — making a real impact on one of the world's most widely spoken languages.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+.
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and gaps in pedagogical approach.
• Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models.
• Suggest improvements for natural, idiomatic, and culturally appropriate Portuguese.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese.
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language.
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level).
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks.
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment.
• No prior AI experience required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing.
• Familiarity with AI-powered language tools or educational technology.
• Knowledge of regional Portuguese variations (Brazilian, European, etc.).
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows.
