About The Role
What if your expertise in climate science could directly shape how AI understands one of the most critical challenges facing our planet? We're looking for environmental science specialists to develop advanced, real-world problems in climate modeling and ecology --- problems that train the next generation of AI to reason with genuine scientific depth.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for Masters and PhD-level scientists who want to put their expertise to work in a meaningful new way. No prior AI experience needed --- just deep domain knowledge and a commitment to scientific rigor.

What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with real-world relevance and scientific depth
- Apply your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or related fields to design complex, nuanced problem statements
- Evaluate AI-generated reasoning and outputs for scientific accuracy, clarity, and rigor
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to push the frontier of AI scientific reasoning
- Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of accuracy and intellectual quality
Who You Are
- Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, or a closely related field
- Deep expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability science, or environmental data analysis
- Proficient in Python or R for research or data analysis
- Exceptional written communicator --- you can explain complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently and asynchronously
- Fluent in English
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data labeling, or AI evaluation workflows
- Background in interdisciplinary environmental research spanning multiple domains
- Familiarity with AI tools or large language models as a practitioner or researcher
- Experience designing or grading complex scientific assessments or research problems
