Job description

About The Role

We're looking for detail-oriented clinical professionals to review and annotate electronic health record (EHR) data for quality assurance purposes. Your expertise directly shapes the accuracy of datasets used in real-world clinical and research applications --- work that matters.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role localized to the Chicago market. If you have a background in healthcare, medical coding, or clinical documentation and a sharp eye for detail, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Review clinical text and structured EHR data for accuracy and consistency
  • Label and annotate diagnoses, procedures, and chart details using defined guidelines
  • Identify errors, inconsistencies, or ambiguities in clinical documentation
  • Apply careful judgment to complex, real-world medical datasets
  • Maintain high annotation quality and consistency across large volumes of records
  • Provide structured feedback and flag data quality issues as they arise

Who You Are

  • Background in healthcare, clinical documentation, medical coding, or a related field
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, ICD codes, CPT codes, or clinical terminology
  • Strong attention to detail --- you catch what others miss
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own workflow
  • Reliable, consistent, and committed to quality
  • Experience in chart review, medical records, or clinical QA is a plus

Nice to Have

  • Credentials such as CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or similar
  • Prior experience with data annotation or labeling platforms
  • Background in clinical research or health informatics

Why Join Us

  • Fully remote --- work from anywhere on a flexible schedule
  • Meaningful work that contributes to clinical research and healthcare quality
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of a clear, well-defined role
  • Opportunity for ongoing contract work and extended engagement
  • Work alongside professionals who take data quality seriously
