Mathematics Expert (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your love of mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons about the world's hardest problems? We're looking for sharp mathematical minds to evaluate and improve AI systems tackling complex math --- from elegant proofs to challenging olympiad-style problems. Your expertise will help build AI that reasons with rigor, clarity, and precision.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10--40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Review AI-generated mathematical solutions for correctness, completeness, and logical rigor
- Identify errors in proofs, calculations, and step-by-step reasoning
- Evaluate the clarity and quality of mathematical explanations
- Solve challenging problems spanning algebra, number theory, combinatorics, analysis, probability, and more
- Provide structured feedback that helps AI models improve their mathematical reasoning
- Craft and refine problems that push the boundaries of what AI can handle
- Work independently and asynchronously --- fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a quantitative field
- Deeply comfortable working across multiple areas of mathematics
- Strong problem-solving instincts with sharp mathematical intuition
- Able to communicate complex ideas clearly and precisely in writing
- Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy
- No prior AI experience required --- we'll get you up to speed
Nice to Have
- Competition math background (PMO, APMO, IMO, Putnam, or similar)
- Graduate-level coursework in mathematics or a related field
- Experience tutoring, teaching, or writing mathematical content
- Familiarity with LaTeX or other mathematical typesetting tools
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs
- Apply your mathematical expertise to one of the most intellectually stimulating challenges in tech
- Fully remote and flexible --- work from anywhere, on your own schedule
- Freelance autonomy with access to a global community of elite quantitative thinkers
- Variety of problem domains keeps the work engaging and intellectually rewarding
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension based on performance
