About The Role

We're looking for experienced security professionals to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI systems on real-world vulnerability management. Your hands-on knowledge of how security teams actually discover, prioritize, and remediate risk will directly shape how the next generation of AI understands cybersecurity.

This is a unique opportunity to put your practitioner expertise to work beyond the SOC --- influencing AI that will be used by security teams worldwide.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10--40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
  • Classify severity, impact, exploitability, and appropriate remediation strategies
  • Review and evaluate patching, mitigation, and risk decision-making scenarios for realism and accuracy
  • Generate, label, and validate security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
  • Apply your real-world experience to distinguish between theoretical risk and what actually matters in production environments

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Solid familiarity with CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks (e.g., CVSS, EPSS, SSVC)
  • You understand the tradeoffs between textbook risk scores and operational reality
  • A clear, structured, and analytical thinker who can communicate reasoning in writing
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on async, task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar vulnerability management platforms
  • Background in threat intelligence, red teaming, or penetration testing
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure security and container vulnerability management
  • Prior experience working with AI training, data labeling, or technical content review

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside the world's leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible --- work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Your security expertise creates a direct, lasting impact on how AI reasons about real-world risk
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
