About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing technology company operating in a fully remote environment with employees and business partners across multiple regions and time zones. As they continue to scale, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to lead and optimize their AR and collections operations while supporting the growth of our finance organization.

Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Manager will report directly to the Director, Accounting Revenue, who is based in Southern California. This role will oversee the day-to-day Accounts Receivable function, including billing operations, collections, cash applications, customer account management, and process improvement initiatives.

This individual will manage a distributed team consisting of three AR resources located on the East Coast and one offshore team member in the Philippines who works East Coast hours. While the company is fully remote, preference will be given to candidates located in the Central or Eastern time zones to support team collaboration and operational coverage.

However, exceptional candidates outside of the preferred time zones who are willing to maintain flexible working hours aligned to business needs will also be considered.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, process-driven, collaborative, and experienced working in high-growth, fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Collections Management

  • Oversee the full Accounts Receivable lifecycle including invoicing, collections, cash applications, customer account reconciliations, and dispute resolution.
  • Manage aging reports and proactively drive collection efforts to improve cash flow and reduce DSO.
  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Monitor AR balances and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed AR team across multiple time zones, including offshore resources.
  • Coordinate workflows and establish accountability across East Coast and international team members.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within a fully remote environment.
  • Ensure consistent execution of AR processes and adherence to service level expectations.

Revenue Accounting & Financial Close Support

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to AR and revenue operations.
  • Prepare reconciliations, reporting schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting, Revenue, FP&A, and Sales Operations teams.
  • Assist with audit requests and compliance requirements related to revenue and receivables.

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Develop, implement, and enhance SOPs, internal controls, and scalable AR processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
  • Assist with systems optimization and process standardization initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts as the company grows and evolves.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive Accounts Receivable and collections experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Recent hands-on experience utilizing NetSuite is required.
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable, collections, and treasury operations is required.
  • Strong experience managing large volumes of data using Excel and/or AI-enabled analytical tools.
  • Proven ability to manage remote and offshore teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, reconciliations, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a technology or SaaS company preferred.
  • Experience creating and implementing SOPs, controls, and scalable accounting processes strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and large dataset management.
  • Experience with ERP implementations or system optimization initiatives is a plus.
