About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Java Developer to support a large-scale digital transformation initiative. This role will focus on developing microservices and integrations as part of a migration from legacy systems to a modern enterprise platform.

This is a fully remote opportunity, requiring availability during EST or CST business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java-based microservices deployed in Azure
  • Design, build, and debug APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams including analysts, project managers, and functional consultants
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions
  • Ensure high performance, reliability, and security of applications
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes

Required Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in full-stack or backend application development
  • Hands-on development must be the primary function in most recent role
  • Strong experience with Java (Java 17 or newer)
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and API development
  • Deep expertise in RESTful APIs and web services
  • Experience working in Azure environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Technical Skills

  • Java (17 )
  • Spring Boot (or similar frameworks like Micronaut)
  • REST APIs & Microservices architecture
  • SQL and database design
  • Azure & Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines)
  • Git or similar version control tools
  • API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI)
  • Secure coding practices & SOLID principles
