About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Java Developer to support a large-scale digital transformation initiative. This role will focus on developing microservices and integrations as part of a migration from legacy systems to a modern enterprise platform.
This is a fully remote opportunity, requiring availability during EST or CST business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based microservices deployed in Azure
- Design, build, and debug APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams including analysts, project managers, and functional consultants
- Translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and security of applications
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in full-stack or backend application development
- Hands-on development must be the primary function in most recent role
- Strong experience with Java (Java 17 or newer)
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and API development
- Deep expertise in RESTful APIs and web services
- Experience working in Azure environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Technical Skills
- Java (17 )
- Spring Boot (or similar frameworks like Micronaut)
- REST APIs & Microservices architecture
- SQL and database design
- Azure & Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines)
- Git or similar version control tools
- API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI)
- Secure coding practices & SOLID principles
