Job description

Requirements

Must have:

  • Strong comprehension of computer science fundamentals and principles of object-oriented design
  • Practical experience in software development using Java and J2EE technologies like Spring Boot
  • Proficiency in developing REST APIs, and managing both relational and NoSQL databases, including complex query building and optimization
  • Familiarity with continuous integration, DevOps practices, and popular tools such as IntelliJ IDEA, GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Gradle, and Maven
  • Experience working under Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies, including paired programming approaches
  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development, along with familiarity in testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
  • Competence in API Testing using tools like Postman, Bruno, and SoapUI
  • Ability to utilize tools for quality and security scanning such as Sonar, Fortify, and similar
  • Commitment to applying clean code principles and industry best practices in processes
  • Familiarity with messaging frameworks like Kafka or analogous technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably AWS, Azure, or others
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (preferred but not mandatory)
  • 6+ years of relevant experience (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in iteration planning sessions to ensure team alignment on each task in our backlog
  • Participate in daily standups with team members, both on-site and remotely
  • Contribute to retrospectives to gather insights and implement actionable improvements for the team and product
  • Collaborate with team members in the design of applications and systems
  • Employ paired programming and test-driven development daily to produce software and develop products
  • Set up and maintain continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment pipelines
  • Offer support for our software products in user environments
  • Act as a subject matter expert in a specific area, displaying leadership during forums such as ECC and SWAT calls
  • Provide contributions to product design, working collaboratively to address challenges effectively
  • Engage in knowledge sharing and participate in enhancing the teams collective expertise
  • Mentor junior team members in varied technologies and XP practices
