International Business Development Manager

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to join a rapidly expanding, global Freight & Logistics provider based in the USA. You'll be part of a dynamic, collaborative team backed by deep industry expertise, where your contributions directly impact international growth.

Salary: $80,000 -- $120,000 Commission (DOE)

Location: Fully Remote

Role Overview

As an International Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts. You will align your efforts with the company's international growth strategy and country-specific sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities through strategic "hunter" sales activity
  • Schedule and attend client meetings, following up on leads generated by inside sales teams
  • Evaluate prospective accounts to determine profitability, strategic value, and long-term potential
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients by understanding their business needs and market dynamics
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Sales Channels, and Local Management) to support customer retention and growth
  • Increase gross profit and market share through effective account development
  • Conduct consistent follow-ups on proposals and nurture client relationships
  • Monitor customer attrition and implement effective recovery strategies
  • Perform ongoing analysis of key accounts to identify growth opportunities
  • Execute sales strategies aligned with the company's growth plan
  • Develop and implement tactical plans to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Recommend tailored logistics solutions based on customer requirements and industry expertise

Requirements & Experience

  • 3--5 years' experience in the Logistics / Freight Forwarding industry
  • Minimum 1--3 years of field sales experience in freight forwarding or at least 2 years in an operational role
  • Strong knowledge of international freight services (import/export, consolidation, etc.)
  • Proven ability in negotiation, strategic planning, and decision-making
  • Demonstrated success in business development with a strong "hunter" mindset
  • Entrepreneurial thinking with the ability to identify new opportunities
  • Willingness to travel as required

Language & Technical Skills

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional local language skills are a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new systems and software
