About Ambitus AI:
Ambitus AI is an applied-AI product and research company. Our work helps frontier labs and top enterprises train, test, and deploy AI agents that automate high ROI tasks. We're a highly technical team based in San Francisco with backgrounds from Mercor, Google, Stanford, and more.
As a UI/UX Design Specialist, you'd help us create training data for a project with one of the world's top AI labs.
Your role:
As a UI/UX Design Specialist, you will apply your professional experience in product and interface design to help design, execute, and evaluate realistic UI/UX workflows. The core objective of this role is to translate real, day-to-day product design reasoning into structured tasks and evaluations, enabling AI systems to learn how experienced designers build screens, design systems, and interactive prototypes.
Compensation:
- Compensation: $50-70/hour
- Commitment: 15-40 hours per week
- Type: Contract, part-time
- Location: Fully remote
What you'll do:
- Execute tasks within Penpot to validate feasibility and establish ground-truth solutions
- Write detailed task specifications for UI/UX design workflows, including clear prompts, expected outputs, and grading criteria
- Design application screens, establish and apply design systems, wire interactive prototypes, and produce handoff-ready mockups
- Define grading rubrics that assess both technical execution (e.g., reusable components, correct prototype wiring, responsive layout) and design judgment (e.g., hierarchy, spacing, on-brand visual polish)
- Provide clear, written documentation of your workflows, reasoning, and quality assessments
What we're looking for:
We are specifically seeking experienced product and interface designers with strong design-system discipline and hands-on production experience.
Relevant Backgrounds:
- Proficiency and fluency with Penpot, Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools
- Product designers, UI/UX designers, or interaction designers working in-house or at agencies
- Freelance designers with a portfolio of shipped app or web interfaces
- Hands-on experience with component libraries, design tokens, prototyping, and responsive layout
- Familiarity with developer handoff workflows and modern design-system practices
