We are currently seeking an Electrical Designer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office.

About the Role

As an Electrical Designer in the Oak Ridge office, you will perform a variety of electrical design functions. This includes:

• Development of facility models and construction drawings such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules, and bills of materials.
• Complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas, including fixture selection and model calculations for normal and emergency lighting.
• Assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials.

The work location for this position is in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate's degree in engineering from a certified institution.
• Four (4) or more years of electrical engineering design experience.
• Construction support experience for Title 3 activities.
• Sole US citizenship required.
• Short Circuit Analysis experience.
• Working knowledge of the NEC.

Preferred:

• DOE experience desired.
• NQA-1 experience desired.
• Lighting calculation experience.
• Familiarity with 3-Dimensional Applications.
• Knowledge of a broad range of electrical systems, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design, and equipment selection.
• Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications.
• Experience in providing construction support or services during construction.

Work Location

This position is preferred to be worked full-time in Oak Ridge, TN. A remote/hybrid option is available.

• Hybrid: For individuals within 50 miles of the Oak Ridge, TN or Denver, CO offices, a hybrid option requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office is available.
• Remote: For individuals outside of 50 miles, a remote option with some travel to the Oak Ridge, TN office is available.

For hybrid and remote work, you are required to provide and work in a secured location as approved by the company within the United States.

Essential Functions

• Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting (20 lbs. max, 50 ft. carry max).
• Hand manipulation for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Occasional reaching/working above or below the shoulder.
• No foot controls necessary.
• Must be alert to equipment in the field.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Work near construction job site equipment, hazardous equipment and machinery.
• Occasional work on uneven ground.
• Exposure to dust, gas or fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

Other Essential Functions

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere, promoting productivity, teamwork, and cooperation.
• Professional grooming and dress appropriate for the position and safety.
• Must pass pre-employment drug, background check, and site security badge screening.

Compensation Details

$30.00 - $50.00 per hour. This is a good-faith estimate; actual compensation may vary based on factors like responsibilities, education, experience, skills, market data, and applicable agreements.
