Role Overview:

The Project Manager II is responsible for leading the implementation of the annual Stars work plan as part of the Medicare Stars Strategic Solutions Unit. This includes medium to large-scale projects of moderate complexity within a matrixed environment, including HEDIS, CAHPS, and HOS data projects, driving cross-functional quality improvement, vendor management, and compliance to boost plan performance and member experience. The role applies subject matter knowledge to resolve operational issues, coordinate cross-functional workflows, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager also provides ongoing leadership updates through concise, timely status reports that highlight progress, risks, and decision-making needs to maintain stakeholder alignment.

Work Arrangement:

  • This is a remote position within the United States working East Coast hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall direction of projects from analysis through implementation

  • Lead cross-functional project teams and other stakeholders to ensure project goals and objectives are met

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation

  • Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders

  • Facilitate project meetings and communication with stakeholders

  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered on time and on budget

  • Identify, document, and lead mitigation of risks to project timelines and budgets

  • Provide ongoing mentorship to associates and cross-functional teams with less PM experience, including support with workplans, timelines, risk mitigation, and executive-ready communication

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a formal project management role in a managed care or healthcare delivery environment

  • Proven success in managing and delivering cross-functional projects

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of standard project management methodologies and best practices

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP certification is strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain within 6 months to 1 year after beginning employment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a polished executive presence

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, SmartSheet, and other project management platforms

  • Demonstrates curiosity and willingness to learn emerging technologies, including AI tools like Copilot, to drive continuous improvement and efficiency
