Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Application Engineer who is motivated by variety and is seeking an environment for professional growth. The successful candidate will work as part of our team supporting a long-term program for an Investor-Owned Utility client with the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of GIS applications in a project and support capacity. This position requires an experienced, self-motivating individual capable of performing in a fast-paced development environment and interacting effectively with key customers and users.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with client customer project teams to provide software development services for multiple utility company applications.
- Maintain daily operations surrounding the GIS with the Product Support Manager and team.
- Work with common GIS software including interaction with map features, leveraging available tools (ESRI Experience Builder, ESRI Portal, ArcGISOnline), and extending core functions.
- Understand and apply Spatial Data Modeling, including the creation and manipulation of features.
- Build Custom GIS Applications via ArcGIS Engine or Runtime.
- Perform querying, reporting, and extraction of spatial data.
- Participate in a required on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, or a related field is required. A high school diploma with additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 4+ years of related experience is required.
- Must have experience with ESRI, Oracle, and SQL Server.
- The role requires the ability to perform in a complex, multi-tasking work environment, work within time restraints, and perform duties without immediate supervision.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GE Smallworld or FME Workbench.
- Proficiency in languages such as Magik, Python, C#, or Java.
- Ability to support multiple projects concurrently.
- Capability to solve highly technical and complex problems.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $35.00 and $42.00 per hour.
