Role Overview

This position is responsible for implementing, engineering, and operating enterprise data platform services across hybrid and cloud environments. The role partners with CloudOps, application, and security teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable platform capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer and operate enterprise data platforms across SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Implement database provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code.
• Support monitoring, observability, and alerting for data platform services to improve availability.
• Assist with performance tuning, capacity management, and operational support.
• Support backup, recovery, and high availability configurations aligned with business requirements.
• Contribute to the automation of routine operational tasks and integration into CI/CD processes.
• Support the migration of legacy SQL platforms to Azure SQL or PostgreSQL.
• Apply security, identity, and governance controls across data platform services.
• Provide support for Azure Cosmos DB governance, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Document configurations, standards, and operational procedures for supported services.

Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in database administration, data platform engineering, or cloud data services.

Technical Skills:

• Azure SQL
• PostgreSQL

Preferred Qualifications

• Cosmos DB
• SSIS, SSRS
• CICD DevOps
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, or Bicep

Additional Information

This is for a contract with the potential for hire or extension. Candidates must be able to work on a hybrid schedule, with one day a week (Wednesday) onsite if located within an hour of the primary location, or fully remote if located further away.
