IT Project Manager - Remote

Job Overview

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an IT Project Manager with Infrastructure/Cybersecurity expertise for an Aerospace and Defense Technology Company located in Philadelphia, PA. This is a 3-6 month contract opportunity.

• Compensation: $63.00 - 73.00 per hour
• Location: Hybrid (3-5 days on-site in Philadelphia, PA)

This role supports the CIO and IT leadership team as the company becomes IT-independent from its former parent organization. The position is hands-on and delivery-focused, built for someone who can manage multiple workstreams, keep stakeholders aligned, and introduce lightweight structure that helps a lean team execute without slowing them down.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple IT projects concurrently, keeping timelines, ownership, and next steps clear.
• Run working sessions, drive action items, and capture decisions to maintain momentum.
• Provide concise, decision-ready status updates to IT leadership and business stakeholders.
• Coordinate across IT, security, vendors, and business partners to remove blockers and manage dependencies.
• Drive implementation planning, cutovers, go-lives, and operational handoffs, ensuring stable outcomes post go-live.
• Maintain simple project tracking and documentation that supports accountability without unnecessary overhead.
• Lead IT operations enablement initiatives, including a new service management and ticketing implementation.
• Manage cybersecurity deployments, including endpoint detection and response and data loss prevention rollout.
• Handle infrastructure and network coordination tied to site consolidations and physical location changes.

Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of IT project management experience.
• Proven success delivering system implementations and cross-functional IT projects.
• Ability to operate effectively in lean environments without a formal PMO.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a practical, execution-first approach.

Desired Skills

• PMP certification.
• Experience managing cybersecurity, network security, and data center related projects.
• Private equity, carve-out, or divestiture experience.
• Defense-adjacent or Department of Defense contract environment exposure.
